What if?

Imperial Glory is an interesting addition to the turn based strategy game. Lot's of mods to enhance the gameplay.

my guess is more like if you own a seazone you can auto transfer troops to the continent...

I just base this on the feeling that the game is intended to be relatively fast paced and easy to get into....

hello gentleman,

my hope is that those army units will act as sharp shoters with our marines and sweep the sails and decks clean of enemy personel and board the enemy as we bring our ships into grapling range and take the enemy right there and then. What do you say? 8)

I would expect an army on a fleet to not fight at all. In reality the army would be on a convoy of weakly armed ships with a battle squadron or fleet escorting it. If the enemy showed up the vulnerable convoy would make all sail to avoid the enemy and the fighting vessels would engage to allow them to escape - so I hope the game has no added bonus if you have an army with that fleet.

They don't fight side by side with the ship crew.

Anyway, a bunch of seasick, green gilled, land lubbers would have just been in the way of the real prime men-o-war's crew in any hot engagement. :)

But it does make me think that it would have been cool for a "Marine" unit type that could fight at sea or on land. Maybe in the next edition of "Imperial Glory 2"...

Thanks for clearing that up for us sick. You know what that means, that army gets raked by broadsides and dies and goes down with the ship.

also Sick did state that those armies where on board....

so my guess is still a kind of a check board... you got supremacy over a sea zone then you can move a unit across the channel....

this could change if the movement ended on the ship in the middle of the channel... but my feelings are against this..

oh well just a few more days and we will know....

I hope in the game the Dutch will have superior vessels as in reality, they will make an excellent partner for naval superiority . 8)
