It is a super game, nice grapichs etc. The naval battles are super cool........ and look at the screenshots, that is what you see ingame. (if you have a up-to-date videocard) I am waiting 1 year for Pirates of the Burning Sea, and finaly it will be realesed this year

I get it, but at the same time I DON'T get it
Oh well, I'm sure the Dutch time will come, they were after all, the Dominant Power in Trade, Dutch East India Company and Fleet's of the 17th Century, only Second to England but with a ferocity and wit in stategy that licked the English on many an occasion.

The game is set in the Caribbean with British, French and Spanish colonies, plus a few piratey type people around doing piratey type things to the colonists, neutral shipping, etc. Someone is bound to point out that the Dutch had a colonial presence in the Caribbean around 1720-1750 but I assume the game designers decided to go for just 3 main powers.
And I agree the game looks superb, the artwork on the ships is stunning (a 200,000 polygon 74 gun ship of the line anyone?) although the interiors of all the taverns look a bit gloomy.

Maybe the hot bar maids will more than make up for the gloomy taverns, LOL.
I kind of liked the one pirate lady tey had on their website.
The 74 gun ship of the line looks awesome, they will even have West Indiamen in the game too. Do you guys know if 100 gun ships of the line and 90 gunners will be in the game?

I don't beleive so, those types of ship were generally not sent out to the Caribbean in the 1720s - they were kept in European waters as the flagships of admirals on home service. The biggest you'll see I think is a 74 or a 64. But the game is aimed at smaller ships generally, sloops, brigs, xebecs that kind of thing, small local trading vessels and fast nimble pirate schooners.

you know that is just done by the creators of the movie while they could not stand it that without the Dutch they the English would all have parished... and that the Glory belongs to the Dutch.. as well as on land as on the sea.. without us there would be no England... but just Frenchy country...Yorkie wrote:why not play as the english and pertend your quote sharpe "silly billy" the prince of orangeDutch Soldier wrote:Isledall i hope to see you in the game Pirates of the Burning Sea mate
