Commandos Strike Force on sale 17 March

Post by oki-doki »

Proein informs to us by means of press note that Pyro Studios and Eidos will send to Commandos Strike Force the 17 of March of 2006 in Europe. Its launching will take place in PC, PS2 and Xbox. You remember that although it takes the name of the well-known saga, this game will be of action in first person, again acclimated in prolífica World War II. Source http://www.commandosspain.es

By seeing the picture in the boxset of Commandos Strike Force
http://www.hardgame2.com/index.php?zone ... _ficha=652

Do you think that Pyro changed a bit their minds by using actors and not renders of the personalities of the commandos?

Looks alot like what other companies did in MOH and COD.

Although Eidos is saying about a 17th March release... Gamespot says about a
4rth April release:

New Commandos strikes in April
Pyro Studios' series takes new direction, abandons strategy genre for
first-person action and stealth.
Every commando knows that it's not just how one attacks, it's also a matter
of when one attacks. The next edition of the Commandos series was once
scheduled for release in 2005, but it never reached the retail battlefield.
Apparently, Eidos Interactive has now figured out its plan of attack--the
company announced that Commandos Strike Force will engage store's shelves on
April 4.

The game is being developed by long-time Commandos developer Pyro Studios,
based in Madrid, Spain, and will be released on the PlayStation 2, Xbox, and
PC.

Unlike its strategy-based predecessors, Strike Force will adopt a
first-person perspective and blend action with stealth elements. Set in
Europe during World War II, the game is a series of linked missions taking
place in Norway, France, and Russia. Gamers will play as a green beret, a
sniper, and a spy, each having their own methods of accomplishing their
objectives.

Commandos Strike Force is rated T for Teen and will retail for $39.99 on
consoles, and $29.99 on the PC. For more details on the game, read
GameSpot's previous coverage.

Any ideas? Or we simply have to wait?

Well... the plot thickens... according to the official site commandosstrikeforce.com:

"It’s official, Commandos Strike Force Ships April 4th.. 2006. Check out the all new full-motion video trailer and the new Commanodos Killing Techniques in our download section."

So... I guess a bit of waiting then...

Word from Eidos is two different release dates.

17 march = Europe
4th April = North-America territory

Eidos Released a press release stating the North American Release date was April 4th

http://www.gamespot.com/pc/action/comma ... id=6144163

That is only the shipping date. Depending on where their distribution centers are located, Americans wont see the game until the 15th or 11th at the latest...I highly doubt this game will be a big seller in America so availability wont be an issue. Europe on the other hand.....
For now take care of yourselves

For anyone in the UK and Europe (althought I don't know how much europeans usually pay for games) CSF is on sale for £17.99 or €28.99 here:

http://www.play.com/play247.asp?page=ti ... rt&Cur=257

I think thats a pretty good deal for a brand new game!

Yeah I lost interest after Commandos 2 - C3 was just a big let down for me but I'm liking CSF - it's got a Call of Duty feel to it but with the switching between roles element which is good.

EDIT: I've just pre-ordered the game...wooooooooo
