Not too early to Mod.....
OK, so it is too soon to mod things. But ive been looking at the files.
The .cfg file holds nothing of value in terms of troops etc, but its in Spanish. Same for some of the sound effects titles, they are also in Spanish. What is not in Spanish are the names of the dialogue files, the demo only has the English, so if your wondering why the otherside is so quiet, the sound files are not included.
The sound files and music files are all in .OGG format which is like a super compressed version of an .MP3 file but with the same or near same quality. Opening these requires a player that can play .OGG files and something that allows you to convert .WAV or .MP3 files into this format to create sound or music mods.
I tried to open the data.pak file which probablly contains all the textures and what not. I used the program Pakscape which opens .pac and .pk3 files, but I was uncessfull. Maybe someone else will have better luck.

I opend it up with WinRar like you guys said
Some of the textures are in .TGA format which means it isnt too hard to mod. Though I wonder if a mod is made, does it directly have to be placed in the data.pak file or can it be placed outsid it, for instance the in main folder you have all the game files, and you only just drop your MOD.pak file in there and thats it.
Check this out:
"Men, I ask you for one final effort! We stand at the gates of the Brandenburg Palace, where the enemy has formed its last line of defence. Our objective is to take the Square inside the Palace. Our enemy's objective is to defend it. Take note - there are several positions surrounding this Square from where we may be fired upon." ]
"Ah, finally we reach the heart of England. Before us stands the Castle that dominates this area. Men, this must be ours!" ]
"Finally, Paris! This city has been the heart of France for centuries... now we have the chance to make it ours. Behold its majesty!" ]
Found a list of hotkeys too, thought these might come in handy:

The smoke and crator hole textures are in .TGA format so its easy to mod for those who want thicker smoke etc, so are the flags. Though looking at the troop files, I think they are all in .DDS format so if these are indeed the texture files, a special program might be needed.
And it seems possible, though maybe/maybe not, im not a codder etc, that maybe someone can swap a few files around and create a mod that lets you play as the Prussians instead of the English

winamp plays these files perfectly. The sound files and music files are all in .OGG format which is like a super compressed version of an .MP3 file but with the same or near same quality. there is a lot of interesting stuff you guys have discovered
Get IrfanView from here:
http://www.irfanview.com/
Also download all the plugins from here:
http://www.irfanview.com/plugins.htm
I believe with this you can open .dds files, but I'm not sure though.

Im currently working on a sound mod and maybe a music mod. Though the music mod would only add 1-3 songs. Since the game is not out I won't know for sure if these songs will fit in the game at all.
But my question is, are these period songs? They are the following:
Bagpipe - Scottish regimental march_2
Bagpipe - Scottish regimental march
Bagpipe - Scotland the Brave
Update: I tested out my sound mod in the works, it does not seem to function eventhough I coverted them from .Wav to .Ogg. Hmm....I thought that maybe the files were too big, but some are just as small as the orginals that I overwrote or smaller and they still don't play in game.

I also found this:
I right clicked on Cyrenaica Austria and clicked edit thinking maybe there is something I could do to fix it. And it it it says:
'@echo off
Start FSCommand/DEMOIMPERIALGLORY.EXE'
But from here I don't know what to do. But I did just make one very small change by adding a space somewhere just to see what it would do(I am curious ) But once I click save it says "Cannot create C:IG_demomod/Cyrenaica Austria".
I am not sure if that helped but I thought perhaps it could. Maybe I put the downloaded file in a bad place?
