Commandos at the movies!

Post by iakovos »

For anyone interested...

the commandos games have been depicted in two thus far movies,
a) The Guerreros, a spanish production, which shows Commandos 2 in action,
b) Santa Maradona, an italian production, which shows Commandos Behind Enemy Lines.

Has anyone else seen these films?

No. I have not seen any of them. But recently, I saw a movie named "The guns of Navarone" based on the book "The guns of Navarone". It is almost same of the "Savo Island" mission of Commandos 2. Have you seen it? The writer of the book is Greek. So you might know about it. :D

In that case, I think that Savo Island is based on the Guns of Navarone, since this is the name of the mission in the C2 demo (although it's not playable.) :)

Actually the author of the book is not Greek but English, an Alistair MacLean.
Yes, I have seen this movie. It was shot on location in Rhodes, Greece. But the Navarone island that is mentioned does not exist. Also a few Greek actors were involved like Irene Papas.

Great movie which by itself had a not so worthy sequel.

Umm, pretty delayed reply from me indeed. Well, that was a cute mistake. :o

OT, but hey... well... for me, someone must get his act pulled together and make an ass of a movie of Gates of Fire... that would be a feast... lol
unlike Troy and Alexander, which were a let down.
